Goodness Gracious

I'm a little late to the game, but my word for 2025 is "goodness."For years I’ve heard, “God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.” I’ve even said it. Yet I don’t know that I have completely understood the goodness of God, not that I do now, but I have a new awareness that didn’t exist until last week. I don’t know about you, but sometimes when my prayers are answered, I am surprised. Let me back up.

On the last Sunday of 2024, I was on my knees, next to the bed, pray-crying out my disappointments to the Lord. Recounting how things that I fully expected would happen that year didn’t. While I realize God’s timing is perfect, I can still become discouraged. Anyone else? But wouldn’t you know it, within hours, something I had been weeping about looked as if it might come to pass. Not in 2024. But in 2025. And sure enough, it did. This was something I have prayed in earnest about for close to a decade. Something very dear, delicate, and precious to my heart. While I have seen the goodness of God manifest in many ways throughout my life, that day, I experienced goodness, hope, and grace pouring down, all at once. If you have been praying about something for any extended period of time, please be encouraged. God can answer. God will answer. According to His perfect will. In His perfect time.

This year, I plan to bask in the goodness of my Lord and give thanks for answered prayers, even when the answer is not yet known. 💗
