This morning is July 1st. Yikes! The first six months of 2024 are gone. Perhaps, like me, you had hopes and plans that you expected to see materialize this year. Now, with half of it in the rear view mirror, where do we go? Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths," is one I memorized eons ago in high school. Yet, no matter how many years have passed since then, it still reminds me of truth. I can trust God in every area and with every detail. He has never failed me. Though there have been times when it felt like it, feelings and fact are not the same. I choose to continue to place all of my trust in God and acknowledge His ways are higher than mine and His plans are infinitely wiser and better. I am confident that He is directing my path and will direct yours too.
Lord, this morning I surrender my attempts to direct and control my life. You know what is best for me. I trust You, even when it is disappointing and hard. Fill my heart with hope, joy, and peace found in You. Amen. ❤️
