Rhyming in the Waiting

I'm currently waiting to hear back from a pitch I made to a literary agent in February. While it is maddening, wondering, waiting, and rehearsing scenarios, I continue to tap into my creative side. I haven't attempted writing a poem in what seems like forever. But this little flower touched my with a tint of whimsy and I couldn't resist.

Yellow primrose wild and sweet

I dare not tread you with my feet

Along the sandy paths you grow

And wake in evening's tender glow

Your fragile petals soft and bold

Help the dunes together hold

A candy treat for ardent bees

With each new morn you drift to sleep

Yellow primrose wild and sweet

You make me smile each time we meet
